McKinstry Joins November Team as Managing Director

mckmugJerry joined The November Team as Managing Director in November 2015. A seasoned communications professional and journalist, Jerry most recently handled press relations for John Faso’s successful run in New York’s 19th Congressional District, a nationally watched race that garnered national headlines and was heavily covered by press all over the country.
Prior to joining TNT, he was a senior executive at Thompson & Bender where he managed communications, public relations and social media for a series of businesses, government, not-for-profit, real estate and universities in the New York Metropolitan area.
Before agency life, he was a columnist and Editorial Board member for Newsday where he was responsible for coverage areas including New York State politics and policy issues pertaining to the northern suburbs of New York City and the Hudson Valley.
Prior to Newsday, McKinstry was an investigative reporter and political correspondent for The Journal News/LoHud.com where he covered county government, state affairs and politics. While at Gannett, McKinstry was for 10 years an adjunct professor of journalism at Iona College.
McKinstry has won many awards from the Associated Press, New York Press Association and Gannett. While with the Newsday Editorial Board, the board was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing. He’s appeared on National Public Radio, Regional News Network, FIOS 1 and News12, and regularly provides commentary for television and radio.
He co-hosts a weekly radio show — “The Sounding Board” — on WVOX 1460 AM in Westchester County and in 2016, along with his business colleagues, launched “November Team Live” on WestchesterTalkRadio.com, and is a regular contributor to Westchester Magazine and 914 Inc. He lives in Ridgefield, Conn. with his wife Amy, and two children.
